Arsenal chief executive Vinai Venkatesham has tendered an apology to the whole first-team squad over the European Super League fiasco.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta and Venkatesham addressed all of the players at Arsenal ’s London Colney training ground on Wednesday morning.
On the back of the club issuing a full apology to supporters after the Super League collapsed, the hierarchy have now explained the club’s position to players and coaching staff.
It is understood Venkatesham spoke to the whole group, explained the reasoning behind it but apologised fully for putting them through the mess of the last 48 hours.
The widespread fan anger has also been overwhelming and players have had major concerns as to why club owners have bought into such an explosive and destructive proposal.
Arteta, like Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola, had not been privy to full details before the story broke and now has to get the players focused on Friday’s game with Everton.
