Raheem Sterling warns Man City after impressive Chelsea clash with just three words

Raheem Sterling’s three-word warning to Man City after their impressive clash with Chelsea

Chelsea star Raheem Sterling has warned the rest of the Premier League that his Chelsea side are cranking into life. The Blues rescued a point from their Premier League clash with Sterling’s former side Manchester City thanks to a penalty from Cole Palmer in the fifth minute of added time at Stamford Bridge.

City had been ahead three times but Chelsea responded thanks to goals from Thiago Silva, Sterling, Nicolas Jackson and Palmer. It capped off a fine two weeks for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, who sealed their Carabao Cup quarter-final place with a 2-0 defeat of Blackburn Rovers, thumped Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 in North London and took Pep Guardiola’s City all the way to head into the international break in fine form.

Sterling took to social media platform Instagram post-match and wrote ‘Proud of the team tonight, we are coming’, in a clear warning to Chelsea’s Premier League rivals that, after a slow start to the season, Pochettino’s men are beginning to hit their stride. There is still a considerable gap to fourth place, though, with Spurs ten points clear of Chelsea after a dozen games of the 2023/24 season.

And Pochettino thinks Sunday’s game is exactly the sort of performance that will give his side hope of returning to the Premier League’s elite. “I think this type of game provides us the capacity to believe,” he said.

“Of course we are going to face teams that are going to play completely different than Tottenham or City, we’ll need to play another game, but it provides the team and the players good knowledge about themselves. “That is the process, that is the way that we want to play and the way that we want to challenge big teams like City.”
