Chelsea star the only player in Europe to have done these three things
Conor Gallagher has had a brilliant start to the 2023-24 football season.
The 23-year-old has impressed as a midfielder, showing great leadership and courage on and off the pitch. It is no wonder he has been chosen to captain Chelsea occasionally this term.
Gallagher was arguably at his best against Manchester City last weekend, as the Blues held the reigning Premier League champions 4-4 at Stamford Bridge. And according to Whoscored, he has picked up some incredible stats during the course of the season.
The outlet has revealed that Gallagher is the only player in Europe’s top five leagues to have made 15+ tackles, 15+ interceptions and won possession 15+ times this season.
This is something that even bigger names like Rodri and Declan Rice haven’t been able to manage for Manchester City and Arsenal respectively.
We should also mention that Gallagher is also adding assists to his game now, and has picked up four already so far in this campaign. If he can start scoring more often, there’s no doubt that he could become as great as the legendary Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard were during their playing days.
