Big decision as Chelsea set to offload the some key players in January

Chelsea football keen on offloading some players their current squad under the management of Mauricio Pochettino when the transfer window opens.

Do remember that the West London club were very much active during the summer transfer window as they completed the signings of Nicolas Jackson, Robert Sanchez, Djordje Petrovic, Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

Despite these additions, Chelsea football club will aim to sign more players next year and are very much aware of the need to trim down their current squad when the transfer window opens in January.

And if reports are anything to go by, then Chelsea football club are planning to cash in on highly-rated defender Ian Maatsen when the forthcoming January transfer window opens.

The 221-year-old Netherlands International, who signed up for Chelsea football club after departing PSV Eindhoven back in 2018 has struggled to break into the Chelsea first-team squad over the past few seasons.

The young left-back was sent out on loan to Burnley during the 2022/2023 football season where he scored four goals and created six assists in 42 appearances in all competitions.

Ian Maatsen has now been promoted to the first-team squad this year and has made nine appearances in all competitions for Chelsea football club so far this season.

But then, Ian Maatsen has less than two years left on his current contract with Chelsea football club and having not signed a new deal, the Blues are planning to offload him next year according to reports from Transfer News Live.

But then, it remains to be seen where the young left-back will choose to continue his developments if he eventually gets to leave Chelsea football club when the transfer window opens next year.
